Annual General Meeting – On-line by Zoom
20th January 2022, 7.00pm

Despite the difficulties of organising meetings at the moment, we feel the time has come for our members to consider the future direction of the Forum and decide whether to re-affirm their commitment to producing a Neighbourhood Plan and move forward with it in 2022. To enable us to meet safely, we will be hosting an on-line Annual General Meeting on Zoom. Details are below:

To give structure to our discussion of item 4, we are proposing three possible directions of travel, along with the issues that each of these raises. Our proposals are as follows:

a) Relaunch the Forum

The on-going pandemic has impacted significantly on the Forum’s ability to make progress on a plan. A lot of the groundwork has been done but there is much still to do.

The Steering Group has dwindled in size, which has thrown a considerable burden on the remaining members. If the wider membership chooses to relaunch the Forum, the first step will be the election of officers to participate in the Steering Group.

b) Change the purpose of the Forum

The Forum represents one of the few non-denominational and non-party-political organisations in the Knighton Area. Members may wish to consider its continuation as a group lobbying on behalf of residents of the area on development, environmental or broader issues.

For this to happen, the Forum would need to agree clear objectives and once again, would need to elect a Management Committee to take this forward. In addition, the current constitution would need to be changed.

c) Dissolve the Forum

If neither of the above options is possible or finds the necessary support, then the only remaining option would be to dissolve the Forum, which would require a Special General Meeting. We put this option forward very reluctantly.

Access to the AGM

We realise that not all members have access to the Internet and phones or computers that allow them to access Zoom. If you would like to take part in the AGM but don’t have access to Zoom, please contact the Secretary by email at

Nominations for Steering Committee Elections

If you are interested in standing for election to the Steering Committee, then ou can nominate yourself or others in advance of the AGM in a number of ways. Contact the Secretary by email at the address above or download a nomination form from the website (the nomination form for the elections can be downloaded here) and post the completed form to the Secretary.

We will also accept nominations during the AGM.
